E-Commerce Workshops

What does the research say?

You or your team is about to find out.

Your designers, product managers and developers make dozens of decisions every week about how your shop should work: how checkout flows, how navigation is structured, what belongs on the product page. Most of those calls are made from convention, internal opinion, or whoever argues hardest, because the team has no shared evidence to point to.

Large-scale usability research has already studied what shoppers actually do across all of these areas. This workshop brings that research into the room, whether that room is your whole team or just you, and turns it into a standard you can rely on. So you stop relitigating the same debates, and stop shipping conventions that research already shows cost conversion.

Formats

Choose the format that fits your team.

Every format includes preparation and follow-up, not just the time in the room. Whether you're booking for a whole team or taking part as a single designer or developer, there's a format that fits.

Half-day workshop, 4 hours:

the priorities, fast.

A focused session to get the top priorities right that matter most for your shop. Best for teams that want a strong shared foundation in one afternoon.

Full-day workshop, 8 hours:

depth plus hands-on application.

A deep dive into evidence-driven improvements and working sessions that apply the research directly to your own shop or current designs. Best when you want the team to leave with concrete changes, not just principles.

Remote modules, per 2-hour block:

for distributed teams and agencies.

Live online sessions delivered as one or several 2-hour modules, so you can spread the content across dates. Best for remote teams.

Custom topic workshop or individual sessions.

A session built around a single topic, for example checkout and trust, product pages, or mobile. Or you can also book an individual workshop. Scope and price defined together.

Group size from one person up to 20. Sessions in German or English. For in-house sessions outside Vienna, travel time and expenses are billed separately.

Who it's for

Built for the people who design and build online shops.

  • UI/UX designers who want their design decisions grounded in research, not internal preference or aesthetic habit.
  • Product managers who are tired of debating checkout flows and feature priorities without a clear evidence base to anchor the conversation.
  • E-commerce managers and teams who want to raise the standard of how decisions get made across their organisation and have a shared reference point for what good looks like.
  • Agency teams who want to offer clients a higher level of justification for their UX and design recommendations.

What you'll learn

A structured overview of what research already knows.

The workshop covers the most important evidence-based improvements for online shops, feature by feature, stage by stage. For each topic, you'll learn what the research shows, what the most common mistakes are, and what a well-designed solution looks like in practice.

Why it matters

The cost of not knowing.

When a team builds a checkout flow based on convention and it underperforms, the cost isn't just the lost conversion. It's the testing budget to diagnose the problem, the development cost to fix it, and the time spent arguing about what to try instead.

Most of those problems are already documented. The research exists, and it's specific: it tells you not just that there's a problem, but what it is and what works instead.

The workshop puts that knowledge where it belongs, in your team, before the next project starts.

What prior knowledge is required?

None. The workshop is designed to be accessible whether you're new to e-commerce UX or have years of experience. The content is grounded in research and practical examples  not technical jargon so it's useful regardless of background.

What's the ideal group size?

Typically between 5 and 20 participants. Smaller groups allow for more discussion and application to specific challenges. Larger groups are possible for keynote-style sessions with a more structured format.

Do you travel outside Vienna?

Yes. In-house sessions are available across the DACH region; travel time and expenses are added to the quote. For teams further away, remote modules are usually the better fit.

Is the workshop available in German?

Yes. Sessions can be delivered in English or German, depending on the team's preference.
